I am Yaz Moses, a self-taught artist based in Central Florida, where I create from a home studio I share with my two feline sidekicks, Sweet-Tea and Oreo. Art has been a lifelong passion, ever since I was a child, I’ve found joy in creating and knew deep down I wanted to be an artist.
From my earliest memories, I’ve loved escaping into the world of drawing, where imagination had no limits. Over the years, I explored a variety of mediums, eventually finding my true expression through oil painting on wood.
My signature works often feature surreal orchid-headed girls, accompanied by hummingbirds, butterflies, and glowing click beetles, symbols that weave together the whimsical and the peculiar. These characters are often born from a mix of inspiration, dreamlike imagery, and the occasional burst of intrusive, goofy thoughts that I simply can't ignore. That playful inner chaos helps fuel the stories I tell through my work, adding a layer of cuteness and unpredictability to the surreal worlds I create.
Though I’ve been painting for years, it was in 2018 that I began creating consistently, inspired by a personal health journey. Painting has since become not just a passion, but a vital part of my life, and it’s my joy to continue sharing my art with you.

My art is a reflection of who I am, an intimate blend of emotions, thoughts, and quiet moments that find their way onto the canvas. Painting brings me a deep sense of calm and freedom, helping me stay connected to what matters most. I’m endlessly inspired by the natural world, the colors, textures, and quiet rhythms but also by everyday moments and the people who shape my life.
From my window, I often see butterflies dancing among the flowers, a gentle reminder to slow down and stay present. That constant living beauty, along with bursts of dreamlike imagery and the occasional silly thought, fuels the surreal worlds I paint. My works often feature orchid-headed girls, glowing click beetles, hummingbirds and butterflies, whimsical figures that blend playfulness with emotion. These characters are visual stories born from curiosity, healing, and imagination, each one a small piece of my inner world brought to life.
